Increase in Electric Price Per Night

< back to blog

From the 1st May 2024, there will be an increase in the electricity tariff from £5.00 to £8.00 per night. Please note while we say ‘per night’, it covers your daytime use too. We understand that this change may come as an inconvenience, and we want to provide you with insight into the reasons behind this decision.

  1. Infrastructure Investment: Over the past years, we’ve invested significantly in upgrading and maintaining our infrastructure to ensure a reliable and efficient supply of electricity. These investments are essential for meeting increasing demands and maintaining service quality. We intend to move towards a metered system, which we believe will provide a way to create fair charges for electric use on the site.
  2. Rising Operational Costs: Operational expenses, including maintenance, labour, and administrative costs, have been rising. The increase in tariff helps offset these costs and ensures that we can continue to provide you with well-maintained service.
  3. Market Dynamics: External factors such as increases in electric prices and regulatory requirements also impact our operational costs. Adjusting the tariff allows us to adapt to these changes while maintaining the reliability of our service.

We understand that any increase in tariffs can be challenging for our customers, and we assure you that we have carefully considered this decision. We believe we provide a huge amount for a low cost here and we hope you feel the same.

Our business electric use is low, we use biomass and solar for heat and the campsite facilities use light tunnels and have timer lights to keep our use to a minimum.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this tariff increase, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We value your continued support and understanding as we strive to provide you with the best possible service.
