Postcards to This Place

A place is more than a line on a map.

This landscape is worked, walked, farmed, remembered, visited, loved and relied on. We are gathering postcards from people who know it in real life — through work, family, childhood, wildlife, business, quiet, water, walking, farming, memory and return.

You do not need to write perfectly. You only need to write truthfully. Tell us what you know, what you have seen, what this place means, or what could be lost.

Not sure where to start?

The first time I came here… What I notice every time… A place I keep returning to… What my family or children know here… What my work or business depends on… What I have seen change over time… What people outside this place may not understand… What would be lost is…

Write your postcard

Write as much or as little as you like. This can be a memory, observation, note, letter, witness statement, photograph caption, objection, story or simple detail. You can come back and send another postcard whenever you remember more.
