Campers are welcome to explore all the farm trails on mountain bikes (at your own risk of course). The area is much loved for its terrain, woody trails with tree roots to navigate and wide open moorlands with mossy grass to peddle on.
Children love to bring their bikes – bring sticking plasters…. there are always a few grazes! We can’t remember the number of young people who have learnt to ride on site, the very gentle slope is perfect for setting off and wobbling that first triumphant time. There is a very safe ’round’ that can be watched from the comfort of your tent or caravan as your children peddle off on their own too.
Or those who want to go further there are wonderful ‘pony’ paths that criss-cross the hills and moors here which give endless possibilities for the adventurous.
Those who like to stick to the roads can enjoy the narrow leafy lanes that pass through little hamlets. It is undulating so be fit or prepare to push at times. There is a Sustrans route from Builth and we can tell you of little lanes by babbling streams to get you home via welcoming pubs.
A short drive takes you to the Elan Valley Dams another wonderful and safe place to ride bikes. There are simple rides for the younger cyclist and demanding day long rides for the more experienced mountain biker.
