Walking Map

The wonderful walking for you and your dog has always been one of the very special reasons why people and their pets return again and again to visit us in Mid Wales.

Over the years we have given our visitors a walking map for the immediate area around Fforest Fields, the farm and Aberedw Hill that was drawn for us by a friend. As time has progressed we have improved and extended the areas that are accessible for you so we thought it was about time we produced a new map.

The old favourite with the horses, paragliders, moles and happy smiling sun is still available at the campsite. This more comprehensive version, will give you a good idea of what is on offer before you get here.

There are wonderful walks, on the flat, on gravel tracks, on grassy tracks, round the lakes, through the woods, winding up the hill and then on the open moorland on the tops.

Birds that you are likely to see included both Greater Spotted and Green Woodpeckers, Kites, Buzzards, Willow Warblers, Dabchick or Little Grebe, over a hundred different varieties have been heard or seen around the farm. In the right season we have flushes of wild bluebells, tiny violets, wood anemone. We have been busy clearing the hillside of the pines and replacing them with hardwoods, oak, holly, sycamore, we’ve planted over 20,000 trees in the last three years.

You cannot imagine how beautiful the top of the hill is until you reach it. Soft springy turf, views that go on for miles and singing, soaring larks.

You are welcome to print it off and use it when you get here.

We also have a PDF version you can download and/or print off - you can download the PDF version here
