In the autumn of 2016, we were awarded the AA Campsite of the Year for Wales. It is an extraordinary honour that we still can’t quite believe. We are simply delighted that we can offer you a beautiful sanctuary in mid Wales with excellent facilities, to give you the space to ‘get away from it all’. We are ever thankful for our wonderful visitors and everyone who supports us in our journey.
We are very proud of our 5 pennant rating from the AA. Five pennants sites are of an extremely high standard, set in attractive surroundings with mature landscaping. Our facilities and customer care are marked as exceptional. It also means we have ample electrical hook-ups, first-class loo facilities – including family washrooms and disabled facilities. It also notes that we have a shop and a cafe, and although we don’t have a heated swimming pool we have a beautiful lake for swimming, paddling and honeypot making.
For the last fifteen years our visitors have helped us win Gold in the coveted David Bellamy Award for an environmentally friendly site. In 2009 Professor Bellamy presented with his special award for ‘Enduring Commitment to Conservation’; saying that he ‘takes his hat off to us’ for the work that we have undertaken with the lakes and the preservation and encouragement of wildlife. This was repeated last year, 2013 for the new toilet and shower facilities. We are now only one of seven caravan and camping sites in the country to win his Special Award twice!
Our 4 star rating from Visit Wales is an important award for us. We are proud to be part of Welsh tourism and to encourage people from all over the world to experience this special corner of the country. It is important to us to be here to showcase what’s on offer, with level, well-drained pitches and first-class facilities!
